I woke up with the words 'Leaving Llas Fegas' ringing in my head, had an hang over. Feeling very confused, got up and drank some black and soon I was walking in a none to bright misty early light wondering where the hell I was...Llas Fegas? No! Perhaps Monte Carlo ?
Maybe I was in Bethleham?
or maybe back in Belleville.
My day dreaming ended as close by I heard the sound of the Sea, I walked a little way towards the distant sound of crashing waves.
I rubbed my bleary tired eyes and there before me was sand and water, crazy fellas were surfing and wise men just walking their dogs. I looked and then it dawned on me. I was in 'Hwntw Heaven' otherwise known as Porthcawl but, what the hell was I doing here? I continued to walk around and came upon a sign which made my heart leap with joy.
Not Llas Fegas, Nor Monte Carlo, Bethleham or Belleville it was Porthcawl or rather the fairground and the sign said it was not closing down. FANTASTIC!!! The Tired Worn Old Lady Is Going To Live On! So this is 2012 but what am I doing here?
....and it was still the Christmas Season.
Then another name came into my mind. 'Elfis Preseli', baffled I wandered about taking in a very grim looking New Years Day:
I spied a notice on a wall. read it and realise where I had been the night before, at an Elvis Preseli Tribute Night - Don't Ask?
I would have preferred the MOTOWN night but just look at the cost, the Elvis Night was more than I would pay especially as I am not keen on 'The King' but my ticket was bought for me and it was in name of charity.
I remember, must have been my last year in School and the girls were into Elvis but influenced by my Uncle and Aunty, I was more into Bill Haley. Later, after leaving school I was into Little Richard and James Brown also Chubby Checker and the Twist and this took me in the direction of Motown with some Beachboys on the way. Betime the 'Seventies' came along it was not too difficult to be into 'Disco'. But here I was now with three or was it more? Elvis Presleys to take aboard!
