.Culturally a million miles away from 'Yr Urdd' is the Hay Festival, that is until the 'Plant Bach' and not so’ Bach' have grown up become 'bona fide' members of Y Crachach Newydd, then no doubt they will consider the Hay Festival a must re 'Networking' with a spot of 'Saiscialising'. .Alternative Festivals (usually 'Anglo' orientated), unfortunate Y Cymry would not really know what 'Alternative' means as their whole 'Cultural Scene' is essentially a cross between 19th century 'Victoriana’ or 'latter day' (very safe and often kind of 'twee!') Folk Festivals. Then there is this peculiar brand of 'Contemporary Cymric Culture' stuff as best associated with such as Tony ac Aloma et al! Slightly more political as per Dafydd Iwan and Meic Stephens? Not least there is a lot of 'Roc Cymraeg'. Don't knock it! much of it is ok! but it's not really 'Alternative' *, though on times it likes to give the impression that it's kind of 'Revolutionary' with songs about 'Cofia Treweryn' and Meibion Glyndwr but for most part emphasis is on 'Yr Hen Iaith'. Sadly, this 'Cymru Cymraeg Cultural' world is dieing away and it's supporters cannot even see it coming or can they? But prefer to shut up and ignore the truth?

However, what's the reality? A major growth of 'Anglo -Alternative' festivals, not least into 'Cymru Cymraeg'.
