There is certainly a case now for all girls from age 4 - 14 to be in an Ysgolion Cymraeg and be made to attend Yr Urdd and there after until 21 work for a Menter Iaith or S4C/BBC WALES/CYMRU. As for the lads, join something useful as an FWA II maybe and do manoeuvres instead of clubbing? But no future in that so better join a Political Party like Plaid Cymru and work their way up to being even bigger 'WAGGERS' down in Bae Caerdydd.
Too busy now but would love to waste some time socially commenting on all this 'Welsh Outrage' with fond memories of a Saturday Night out in the 'Sixties', well early 'Sixties' when girls went straight to the dance halls, did not drink and danced around their handbags. The lads went for a few pints, played cards and darts and then joined the girls at the local dance hall but were there for a good punch up with other local lads or 'strangers' (there was a Cymraeg word for they in the Swansea Valley, what was it now?). After the traditional fist throwing, every one made peace, had a few dances with the girls and all went home happy after a bag of chips via some snogging in a bus shelter or if you were luck Nan's Parlor?
One funny tale which might add some light or not on the modern Phenomena of ''girls out of control'', which can be seen in plenty 'Hwntw Towns' on a Saturday Night and not just in Valley Towns but I guess it's Swansea's Wind Street that takes the Prize. I was told that Bethan Jenkins AM once on Radio defended the girls getting pissed down Wind Street or rather ''Enjoying themselves ''. My story concerns a Swansea Saturday Night which started off in Neath, coming down from London to Swansea of a Saturday evening train from Paddington. Sitting in front of me, sure I heard some conversation was a nice Swansea student girl bringing her English Student boyfriend down to see her home town, Mam and Dad. The Train stopped at Neath and a crowd of girls got on behind us wearing dresses about as big as a wide belt and boy did they look good, yes WOW!!! As they passed us and went down the isle pissed and hysterically loud and laughing, both i and the lad in front leaned to the left to look down the isle at some great ass and lovely legs (yes. I know 'sexists' but I am not that old and from another time!). The girl by the guy in front seen him looking pulled him back and had a go at him, to which he meekly said ''how could I not look'', she just whacked him! I leaned forward nudged his elbow and whispered to him quietly ''that was nothing just wait till you see the lads in drag''. Every Saturday night, go down Wind Street or be on a Paddington Train on a Saturday evening passing thru Neath. But it's not new you know, I have heard some tales or two about Factory Girls in the 'Fifties' and the Women who worked in the Bridgend Munition Factories during WWII. There is nothing new under the Sun and it's 'Just Girls Having Fun' and why not, so lighten up! It's not every girl but an MTV Mirror has been held to our 'Welsh Face' and it does need some serious thinking and action and not middle class Knee Jerk Reaction just as in the times of Blue Books 1.
STOP PRESS:
Gog Impresario Glyn Wise is to establish a Valleys Girl Fan Club and after a quick induction into 'Cymraeg' at Nant Gwrtheyrn he will be taking the whole Valley Girl Crew on a tour of Gwynedd before hitting the high time on the North Wales Sunset Strip. Future plans include a Valleys Girl Tourism Initiative called 'Valley Girl Country' and further informs that Valley Girls just love Turbines, they think they are lovely, so tall and so thick!!!
But on the serious side folks, there is an old 'Hwntw' saying ''Destroy the girls and you destroy the Mothers and then that will destroy the Sons''..........What of Welsh Mams now?
